Preet Kaur Gill MP has joined a cross-party group of 75 MPs and peers in backing a legal challenge to prevent Boris Johnson from suspending parliament to force through a no-deal Brexit. The cross-party group alleges it would be illegal and unconstitutional for the prime minister to suspend the Commons to prevent MPs blocking a no-deal Brexit before 31 October. At a hearing on Tuesday 13 August, the courts ruled an urgent hearing of the case which is expected to take place on Friday 6 September.
