Last week, Preet officially opened Birmingham City University's City South Campus expansion with Professor Ian Blair, the Executive Dean for the Faculty of Health, Education, and Life Sciences.
The 10,500 sq m space boasts a range of state-of-the-art facilities and industry standard sports equipment including an Environmental Chamber, used by elite athletes to replicate the experience of exercising in extreme conditions such as sub-zero temperatures, up to 5,000 metres altitude or in dessert heats. It also includes a new sports hall, a sports therapy clinic, nutrition science labs, subject specific classrooms equipped with the latest teaching technology and a biomedical engineering lab.
At the event Preet said, “I am proud to have opened this magnificent building. The state-of-the-art facilities and equipment will enable staff and students to carry out important work, and ensure Birmingham City University continues to be a centre of excellence.”
