Preet Kaur Gill MP is asking the nation to do their bit to prevent plastic pollution by taking part in the award-winning Refill Campaign on National Refill Day, run by City to Sea.

The campaign aims to create a new social norm for refilling on the go – saving us money, keeping us hydrated and preventing millions of single-use plastic bottles at source.

Preet said:

"Bottled water consumption has doubled over the last 15 years, with over 7 billion plastic water bottles used every year in the UK. The Refill public awareness campaign aims to prevent millions of single-use plastic bottles at source.

Sadly, it's been estimated that almost half of these bottles are not recycled and around 15 million plastic bottles are littered, landfilled or incinerated every day - ending up in our natural environment and flowing into our oceans. It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to tackle plastic pollution - the scourge of our oceans"
