One of Birmingham’s oldest rugby clubs, Bournville RFC, have finally got their own home after 109 years. The historic club is the anchor tenant of a new purpose-built sports ground called Avery Fields Sports & Events located on the borders of Edgbaston and Bearwood. After decades of renting various facilities in Birmingham, the new development provides both grass and all-weather pitches, changing rooms, physio room and a Clubhouse with a large function suite which is also available to hire for parties, meetings and by community groups.

Preet Kaur Gill MP visited the newly opened sports facilities and met with the Chairman, Mick Palmer, to discuss their plans for the site. Preet said:

"Bournville RFC’s new sports ground is a fantastic facility for the area, and will be a community hub for sport teams and community groups to meet, play, and socialise. I am pleased to see that Lordswood Boys school is already making good use of the facilities."
